Here'a a pretty one....simple & cute - I wish you could see it in person. The sugar crystals on top make it sparkle! It's my vanilla cake with a friggin pound of strawberries inside! I want a piece! Dangit, I'm going to make one!

2 more cakes...

Fun, right??? Finally I got to use the Romantic Castle cake set given to me by my good friend Kim! It was so easy to assemble & a blast to decorate. Ashlyn LOVED it! When finished it was absolutly precious! (If I may be so bold to say so) Inside was white cake & a white Chocolate pudding filling.

The CARS cake too was fun - I took the stick-ons off of my son's wall & piped the designs onto some fondant, attatched them to the sides & top of the cake then sprinkled on red & white sugar sprinkles! Inside white cake & fresh strawberries. Mmmm.

Now I'm off to buy more supplies - it's Sebastian's 10th birthday & he wants Guitar Hero cake. Now THAT should be challenging!

What I've been up to...

Yes, it was a busy couple of weeks! One wedding, one engagement shower & a last minute order of my favorite, CUPCAKES! I also made a birthday cake for Noah but can't seem to find a picture...I KNOW I have one! I'll keep looking...

I'm happy to report that I made just over $500 in 2 weekends - that was so exciting, you just don't know! It's nice to be able to help out around here finally :)

I have two kids birthday cakes due the 18th - one will be a princess castle cake - Kim's Christmas present to me - I'm excited to finally get a chance to use the kit! I'll post some more pics soon...Love you guys!

It's been a busy couple of weeks!

Hi there! Been a while, right??? Well, you all know how it is - the kids are keeping me busy. I mean, I can barely go to the bathroom alone - why did I think it would be easy to blog? Well, for now, the boys are getting ready for bed & Chloe's already aslep so I have a few minutes. I wanted you all to see some of the cakes I've made the past two weekends. It's been CRAZY FUN!

Last weekend I made some cupcakes for a friend of a friend's birthday, an anniversary cake for my sister-in-law's parents and a MEGA birthday cake for my Mother-in-law Sylvia. This weekend (well, really just Friday) I made a quick cake for the couple whose wedding cake I made a year ago (the one for 350+ people that just about gave me a mental breakdown!) and a super cute pink baby shower cake for Ally. I loved the way they all came out!

Ok, so here are some pics...

Cupcakes...Why do I do this to myself!

The whole time Chloe & I are making these I'm asking myself WHY!!! Here I am supposed to be dieting - only 8 weeks left till my birthday & I'd like to at least be down 15 pounds (yes-pre-baby & wedding day weight-WOOHOO!) and here I am making cupcakes! It's ok though - I only ate a quarter of one (because SOMEBODY's gotta make sure they aren't poisonous) and I'm cool - no more for me - the boys'll be home from school in 30 minutes & they can go ahead & tear them up!
I think they're pretty cute! Chloe had a lot of fun rolling out fontant (it's like vanilla flavored Play-Doh) and messing with the sprinkles.
It's supposed to be pretty cold the next couple of days so I better go to the library tonight and get something to read for when I'm tempted to bake something!

Princess Cake

I made this cake Saturday - well, not really, I shopped Thursday, baked & frosted it Friday and assembled it Saturday before we had to get it to the party at 5. It was so much fun! My friend Kim gave me a beautiful, elegant castle cake set for Christmas and I can't wait to use it but I didn't get to this time. This time the little girls mother bought the Disney Princess kit from Tom Thumb for $20. She couldn't believe (& at the time I couldn't either) that they wanted to charge her another $90 or so for the actual cake so I did it for her instead for less...I won't say how much, because it was a LOT of work & I probably wouldn't do it again for less than $100 total :) I don't think that's bad though - we got at least 50 slices out of it & hey, it's just so freaking pretty! I also had leftover batter & made 20 or so mini cupcakes with milk chocolate frosting & really cute details like flowers, polka dots & sprinkles. I have pictures of those too, and the birthday girl with the cake, I'm just having trouble getting those pics off the camera at the moment...haha! So let me know what you think & what you would pay for it so I know what to charge non-family for it if I ever get to do it again!
